Unhappy -sigh- ... Bad Week...

So I spent the past six days trying to save a fish that I took in with popeye, but he died last night despite the antibiotics and water changes. Poor little guy. He looked really bad at the end. It was so hard watching him suffer and not being able to do anything.

And then the betta I actually own (Freedy) scared me to DEATH when I fed him yesterday night (right after lowering the water level for the poor fish on his deathbed). He acted like he couldn't see! I had fasted him for a day like I usually do, and he's usually really hungry, but I dropped pellets right on his head and he couldn't get them! He ended up shuffling around on the bottom until he ran right into them. I even shined an LED light in his face - no reaction!! This from the fish who usually hides whenever I walk into the room!

Thankfully I just put a mirror up for him and he attacked it, so I guess he just wanted to watch me freak out or something. :l

ARRRGH, this makes me think... next pet I get is DEFINITELY going to be a land animal... ;_; I'm just so out of my element with fish...

Fish love having fun and you must of did a prank when you were young. They are better than land lover pets!

Don't let a rescue get you down, you can't save them all :/ .

Don't worry, things will look up soon. You did your best taking care of the rescue, and though he didn't make it, at least he got to spend his last week in a comfortable place being cared for and treated by someone who cares. :)

Thanks, guys. :)

But really, it's getting weird with Freedy. I think I'll put up a quick post in the proper forum to see if there's such a thing as 'night blindness'. :/ Weird fish.
