Female building a bubble nest

Tigga has a small one going. Im pretty sure shes a female, she has the little white thing under her tummy (i cant spell the word xD) but then again Raphael has one too. Tigga's flared once and her beard wasnt big so im confident shes female. Is it normal for her to build a nest though? D:

Yes she look's like a female to me. And i have had more female's than I can count on one hand. That would Blow bubble nest, When i would put them in a betta cup and float her in the male's tank for breeding time. So he could start building his bubble nest, She would get so excited to that she would flare and blow some bubble's. Like i said I have had it happen at least 5 time's...

One time i had a female get a bigger nest going than the male. She beat him at building one. But then of course he built a huge one.. lol

If you have her where she can see another bettas, she will blow one. Even if the other betta is far away, if she can still see a little she will do it..

i hate to say it, but ur she is probebly a he.

Notice how far back his dorsal fin is, and the sheer lenghth of fin, females appear more blunt than the streamlined male....

Some males have ovapositors too...

I have a hunch that he's a overfed male...

Sorry if I hurt u in anyway:(

A female betta is usually smaller than a male both in body and with shorter finnage. Females will be just as bright and vibrant in coloration as males. An ovipositor is the main indicator that a betta is a female. The ovipositor is a small white egg tube that protrudes from underside her body. In some cases it has been reported that young males have ovipositors although this is much less common.

Here is a female that look's kind of like his. She has a high and far back dorsal...

You can see her ovipositor on the under side of her body between the fin's
