will Cherry Shrimp do well with Bettas? I'm looking to get a few for my 10 gallon. I wasn't able to find any articles on it on Google, so I was wondering if anyone knew/had Cherry Shrimp before.
search "Shrimp" or just take a look around in this section of the forum. I know there are plenty of threads about shrimp as tankmates.
What it all comes down to is this:
It depends on your bettas temperment.
Snails are snacks to a lot of bettas, but to some they're good tankmates.
If you do get shrimp get about 3 ghost shrimp first then see if your betta eats them. if he's cool after a while and doesn't try to eat his nefound friends on a fasting day then you can buy the more expensive cherry shrimp and know that they'll be safe.
I personally would never put my RCS with my betta, purely because I love my little shrimp. Some people do have their cherry shrimp with bettas and experience no trouble, others are not so lucky, at the end of the day its up to you what you do maybe you could try one to see how they get along and then gradually add more but at £3 a shrimp I don't fancy giving my betta fine dining lol
