Divided Tank.

Hello :)
Im planning on putting in a 10 gallon tank for my bettas, it will be divided into 3 sections, but im wondering what i can use for the dividers, i want somthing the water can flow through but if it has holes wont they be able to see each other and wear themselves out? If you could provide pictures of somthing i would be very grateful :) my dad has had experience with dividers so he can help me if i need to build them myself, but i would like a good general idea on what i should be looking for.

Plastic craft store mesh works the best. Its really cheap and most bettas don't mind their neighbors with it.

Here's what mine looked like when I had it divided 3 ways..

Yeah, the fish will be able to see each other through the mesh and get stressed out. However, if you use TWO layers of mesh about a half inch apart, they won't really be able to see each other.

Here's what I did with mine... sorry about the dark water.. it's from the Indian Almond Leaves:

^ So I used two dividers made of black mesh and report cover sliding bars, and I sandwiched some java moss between the two layers. But even without the java moss, the guys couldn't see each other through the two dividers set about an inch apart.

Thanks guys, now i have another question, what would be the length of a 10 gallon tank? i looked it up and i found that a 10 (leader) is 20in a 10 (long) is 24 in and a 10 (gallon) is 24in, im confused, what would be the length of just a tank i could buy at Wal-mart?
