I thought Walmart was phasing out their live fish section...

So I went into the local Walmart today and noticed that they had re-established their live fish section. It has been about two or three years since they've carried live fish and last time there wasn't a single fish that looked very good, all of them had some sort of disease and each tank had a multitude of dead fish in it.

So far the fish in the tanks look okay, no disease that I can see anyhow, but there is clear evidence on the bottom of the tank that it hasn't been cleaned as often as it should, if at all. And as for the betta fish they have, well several looked about ready to die. The only ones that were even slightly alert was a red and white crowntail and a blue crowntail. If I wasn't moving in a few weeks I would have definitely taken them home...

Anyone have any idea about if all Walmarts are bringing back their fish or is it just this one?

My walmart recently downsized their fish. I think it had something to do with making room for a larger electronics section. They're pretty good with their bettas though, the cups always look pretty clean and they only keep a few in stock.

My walmart does not carry any fish. Only supplies and tanks.

I know two near me sell fish, and one doesn't. I haven't been in the other four or five near me.

My Walmart used to have fish, but because of the poor living conditions, they closed it down. I fear that they will open again in the future. *Shudders*.
