Question Bump?

I've seen the word 'bump' in a lot of posts. Can someone please explain to me what this means?

Its a way of moving your post higher in the list. Doing it too much is very rude.

Sometimes people do it to increase their post count. I agree, it's very rude.

I only use it when nobody resonds after a long while. I only do it once per thread, though.

I would suggest only using it when your thread has been "bumped" into the second page, and you don't have the answer you need yet. Even then, one bump should do it. Otherwise, bumping it everyone 5 minutes to keep it the top thread is rude, like said before.
