How long have they been setup? if they are fully cycled then you can take the filter, some gravel and put it in the new tank to help speed the cycle up :)

I'm torn what to do, I'm buying a 6.5 UK gallon tank tomorrow to divide for two bettas. I already have a 4g tank that was home to Clarke Gable but now has shrimp, the shrimp do nothing and it kills me to see what appears to be an empty tank so I was thinking that I could divide the new tank 4 gallons for the new betta and 2 for the shrimp, this way the bettas has more space, I'm torn because I like the look of a tank when there are two males side by side, but I also like my bettas to have room. what to do, what to do lol
