Decisions Decisions

So I'm setting up to do one final spawn this summer. The male I'm using is my blue Marble HM (Rio).

I was originally going to use a new female who is a white (possibly marble) HM, now I'm thinking I want to use my SD marble female (Ada) again. As most of you know I used Ada and Rio in my previous spawn where most of the babies died.

The reason I want to use her again is I think one of the two fry I have left is a double tail. I'm 99% sure I see two lobes and he doesn't seem to have spinal deformities (keep in mind they're only 4 weeks old so nothing is certain). I don't know the genetics of either parent because I don't know the names of their breeders (I had the name of Rio's breeder but it got lost when I moved home), SO I have no way of knowing if one of them is a DBT geno (they don't look it).

So I'm wondering what you all think, which female would be a better match?

Here is Jane (the white HM). She'll give me a higher ratios of HM in the spawn but I'm not certain if she's a marble or if she just has red loss.

This is Ada, she's what some people would call a "calico" marble. She has black and orange flecks, a black caudal fin and a black spot on her anal. She's marbled a lot since I last bred her. She would decrease my likelihood of getting a lot of Halfmoons but she' is definitely a marble which would improve my chances of getting lots of marbles.

What I want from the fry are marble HMs, I'm really not concerned with what colors right now but I'm looking for fish with more than one color. I like the idea of getting DBT from the spawn since that is also something I'd like to work with which is the whole reason I'm considering using Ada again.

I would go with Ada. She's a proven breeder, and she can produce Marbles, HM, and possibly DBTs? Sounds like a good intake and variety.

That's what I'm leaning towards. There's a cute pastel guy on aquabid that I think would go good with Jane.. either that or I can spawn Jane and Rio some other time.

They're in the tank. I'll be updating the "Marble Halfmoons" thread from here on out.

Thanks Guys.
