Prefers small home

So I got Moe the betta from my LPS...when he was in his little bowl in the store...he had a big bubble nest...brought him home and put him in a 5 gallon tank...no nest for the two weeks I've had him.

Yesterday I moved him to his hospital tank to treat some fin damage...bubble nest over night...

Bubble nesting is an instinct, it shows nothing more than reproductive readiness. There could be several reasons why the fish didn't make a bubble nest in the bigger tank.
