I'd go with the 10 gallon, otherwise that many things may be pushing the limits of a 5 gallon. Your numbers sound good. And keep an eye on the betta - some of them can be aggressive toward the frogs/shrimp and start nibbling at them. Depends on the fish. I had a shrimp once and once he shed his exoskeleton and was more vulnerable, my betta bit his head off. Literally. It was kind of a gross discovery :(
:( We had a betta before, but he only lived about 2 months. (It was before I found this site). We are going to get a tank/fishies when we move out of this house and if all goes well with the one betta, we will be getting a second (hopefully a dragon... oh I LOVE dragons :D )
In my opinion, I would not go with both ADF's AND ghost shrimp. I would pick one or the other. I would go with 4 ADF's (they like the company of others) if you shoose that route OR you could do 15-20 ghost shrimp in a 10g. Ghost shrimp have next to no bio-load. I had 10 in my 5g planted. You do not want to add ghost shrimp to a newly established tank. They are sensitive fish and should only be added once the Nirtorgen Cycle has been completed for a couple months.
i have a 2 gallon tank... heated with light (dont worry about cold at night the tank is in the warmest part of my home and a heater is near by) i have no filter at the momment( it has decided to break) will be getting a new one in a week ( but have been doing alot to keep the water in good shape... i have one male and 4 feamales and a snail in here for now... i was thinking of moving my males to my unused 1 gallon tank because he may feel crouded.... they all seems fine i just want your opinion
