Sometimes I am none too bright. I just had the biggest "Oh! Duh!" moment ever in Betta care. . .
I'd been searching all-day (including posts in this forum) on ways to adjust the flow of my non-adjustable flow filter. Mine seemed a bit strong and while my guys seem to be having fun playing in it, I'm sure it would be stressful after a while.
I found all kinds of ideas. Everything from overstuffing your filter media to a simple fix with a water bottle. Then I had a thought. . .
"What if the water level was closer to the filter output and there wasn't that little waterfall?"
I looked at my manual. (And this is that "Oh! Duh!" moment.) The water level is SUPPOSED to be level with the output! The danged "waterfall" should not be there to begin with!
LOL
So after reading all of these "fixes" I'm wondering, did anyone ever bother reading their filter manual???
It worked. There's some movement on the water surface. Beyond that, all is peaceful.
It goes back to my motto. . . Keep it simple, stupid!
