Yeah, Murdoc's learning... slowly. XD He focuses on one single bloodworm and eats that, then looks disdainfully at the rest.
On an un-related note, Buggsie (poor VT) has eaten some... I dropped a few brine shrimp in there for him and he lunged at them like he was waiting for me to put them in for him! o.o

I wish we could buy foods other then pellets for our Betta's here but from what I have read they will eat earthworms too...anyone try this?\

I've tried to collect mosquito larva but there really aren't many mosquitos here oddly.

You have to chop up the earth worms to feed them but they will eat them. I'd also suggest rinsing the worm off before chopping it up.

I wouldn't feed bait shop minnow or any feeder type fish for that matter, due to parasite/pathogens and poor nutrition of some bait fish.
Red worms are great chopped up and fed, make sure you know the difference between red and manure worms, manure worm are not recommended, however, fish usually won't touch them anyway. Manure worms are more segmented.
Also, sometimes the store bought bait worms have additives to keep them alive that are not good for closed systems...so be careful.....
