Is this okay?

So I'm not one for doing a 50% water change every day, but since Sunday, I've been doing 75% change every other day, so Sunday, Tuesday, and then I'm going to today.

Is that a fair compromise?

Do I still need to do a 100% change once a week?

Yes, I use a conditioner.

Here's what I do. I put some of Zombie's current water in his Pet Sense cup, take the net, scoop him into his little cup, which makes him so mad, he doesn't understand yet that he's getting a clean home. I take the tank to the sink, dump out 3/4 of the water, start filling it up w/ fresh tap water, poor in a capful of the conditioner, once it's about half an inch from the top (where I like to stop the water at) I go put the tank back on the end table, plug everything back in, let it sit there about 10-15 minutes, then put Zombie back in.

You could let Zombie float in the cup for the 10-15 mins that you wait, also when I was doing 100% water changes on my QT tank daily I would feed my betta straight after which reduced his stress and instead of hiding he would just sit and wait

Welsh, I'm mainly asking if it's okay to do a 75% water change every other day?

I ask because Zombie's fins aren't as spread out as they were when he first got into his new home, and I don't think his color is as vibrant. But like I said, I've only done this twice, so I'm hoping the more I do it, the better he'll look again.

How big is the tank again? i'm sure I read it on one of your other posts but I can't remember. Does the tank have a heater?

You'll still need to do a 100% once a week. Otherwise all of the ammonia is still building up on the tank walls, decorations, gravel, etc. and will continue to stay in the water. Your goal should be to get 0 ammonia at least once a week, and you can only do that with 100% WC.

If you get a 5 gallon (like I think you mentioned in another thread?? I could be totally wrong) and you cycle it, you won't need to do any more 100% WCs. Only 50% once a week, roughly.

I thought you had a 5 gallon, i'm sure there is someone else on here with the betta name Zombie. I'm getting confused lol.

For a 1.5 I would have to recommend that you do 100% changes once a week along with the 75% every other day

I did say I was going to get Zombie a 5g, but then when I got to walmart I thought the 5g was $40, but that was actually, later I found out, the 10g. So I already bought him the 1.5g.
