What is this?

Today I received my 2nd aquabid boy, Helios. He's stunning...very active and healthy...I only have one concern:

That strange bump. Without the flash it's a mossy green color. What the heck is it? I didn't want to take too many pictures and stress him out more since he's only been here about 3 hours. Any ideas on what this could be and should I be concerned?

that is odd it could be anything really, looks almost like just a small growth. Maybe it will go away. I would just monitor him just in case it changes and grows.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking too. I got him from Interbetta for 10 bucks, I wonder if that is why he was so cheap. I have heard from several people that interbettas is a top breeder though so I'm not sure why he would sell a sick fish. Should I send a picture of it to him? He would have had to noticed it when he shipped him out..

perhaps that is a good idea, he may be able to help you out about what it could be and it might alert him to check his own fish as well.

I'd send a picture just so they can see he had it when you got him...in case it leads to worse.
