Smile Murdoc X Tallulah-Faye

This is my first spawning attempt.
So I just got my spawning tank setup-

It's a five (maybe more... around there) gallon tank
3 Cabomba plants (too many?)
1 small sponge filter on low
1 Elite Heater
And I will soon have a hurricane vase and half a styrofoam cup in there, haven't gotten to it yet.

So here is the tank (and as I said I still need to add a few things to it.)
(Sorry for the size of the pics!)

And here is my pair- Murdoc, a red butterfly CT and Tallulah-Faye (who is full of eggs), a red cambo CT. I know Murdoc's water looks a bit green, but he had a teensy bit of fungal infection (which is now gone) so I added a bit of medicine.
Please excuse the flash! My camera doesn't seem to have a non-flash setting... I'll have to experiment with that.

So today is day two of conditioning. I'm picking up some microworms and whiteworms on Friday the 20th (which happens to be my birthday... lol) and I'm starting a brine shrimp hatchery as soon as I can.

Alright! That's it then. I'll update when the time comes.

Sounds like a plan...if you have more live plants I would add them, cram it full since it is only 5g tank, you can take most out once they spawn for easier cleaning and counting. If you have any common snails you can add them to help make some infusoria and clean up of fry food and either IAL or oak leaf will help too in making infusoria for first live fry food.

Also, you may want to wait until you have eggs hatch or the day after before you start the BBS so that you can feed BBS with their yolk sac intact for better nutrition for the fry and the BBS are smaller too. Usually BBS only take 18-24h to hatch depending on water temp and salinity, unless you haven't ever hatched BBS and then you may want to give it a try and make sure they will hatch in your source water.

Good luck

I will try to get some more plants then!
I am hoping to get a snail or two in the next few days as well.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking- Never hatched them before, so I'm going to try it out and see if it works.

Thank you!

Thank you!
Aquabid? I don't know if the fry would be... good enough for Aquabid, but we'll see.
My Big Al's keeps their bettas in 2 gallon tanks with caves, clear water, everything. I'm hoping that they'll take some.
I know people who want some fishies too
And if anyone would like some, I'd be happy to ship! I have to figure out how to though...
