Filter after illness

I had just gotten a filtered tank for our new fish when it developed visible symptoms of ick the following day, and died the day after . I did take the filter out during treatment as advised by the fish store, so it was only used about a day. I would like to set up the tank again for a new betta. Would this filter be ok to use? I did rinse it very well after we removed it from the tank, but I am concerned that it could be harboring something and make the new fish sick?

When my first betta died of fin rot what I did was scrub everything out throughly and then added some Tetra general tonic and then let it run for a few days before adding my betta, nothing bad happened and touch wood I don't jinx myself after this reply lol
