Ick in aquarium?

I know this section is for betta sicknesses, but I noticed my platy has white spots, which I am pretty sire is ich. I searched these forums and gathered that raising the water temp, extra vacuuming, and aq salt is best to treat it for bettas. But does anyone know if it's the same for platys? I'm guessing it is, I just don't want to hurt him. He's in a 10 gallon tank with a Molly and a mystery snail.

I don't have aq salt, but I can get it first thing in the morning and I'm just about to raise the temp a few degrees. (It's at about 78* F now)
