Temp?

Ok so Ive successfully flooded this board with questions all day. lol I have one last question. What should the temp of my tank be it is at 76F right now. I have a hex tank with no real room for an over the side type heater. IF I need a heater, can you suggest one that will work?

Size of the tank? Temperature should stay between 76-82 degrees with 80 being ideal, 76 being a little low, and 85 at the highest.

I use a Hydor Theo 25w for my 2.5gal tank and it works wonders. It has an adjustable temperature dial and keeps my tank at a stable 80 degrees. :)

What Ajones has would probably be ideal. I don't know for sure, but from what I've seen, alot of people have problems with tetra heaters (These are the ones that can be found commonly at Wal-mart). In a fish-guide video, its pritty clearly state that, "You get what you pay for", I believe this to be true. What ever heater you do look at, just make sure its for the correct tank size. This will be displayed clearly on the box before you buy it.

As state already, Temp should stay around 78-82 for good comfort, being at 76 wont hurt though. Keep in mind that these are tropical fish though, so I wouldn't go lower. I hope this helps a little!

I definitely think that getting a heater would be a good idea and would eliminate one more possible variable. It's just a matter of finding one designed for a 2 gal tank that isnt astronomical.

I use a 25 watt Marineland stealth visitherm in one of my 2.5 gallons. It's adjustable.
