If you have lots of live plants and guppy grass is great for this, without a filter I would do twice weekly 50% water changes in a 5g tank, the naja or guppy grass should use the ammonia produced as food before it becomes a problem for the fish if it is actively growing. The plants will become the filter and if you let some of it root all the better.
I threw some more guppy grass in there this morning.
Plus he has java fern in there as well as some Bacopa Australis. Oh - AND a moss ball!
I was planning on doing three 50% water changes a week with gravel vac.
