Disease?

I'm new to caring for betta fish, so i dont know much about diseases.

When i was changing the water in my tank, i picked up by betta with a net and i noticed there was little blue specs in the net. I took a look at my betta and i see she is missing a little area of scales at the base of the back fin.

A week later, i see a white, sorta fuzzy patch where the scales used to be.

This isn't the first time she lost scales. Previously i think my fake plant scratched her but she didn't get a white, fuzzy patch.

I'm not sure if it is a disease, i would like to know if i need to treat it and how.

Thanks

First, you might want to ditch the net. just pour your fish in a bowl while you do the water change. I just dip a bowl and scoop the fish up.
If you NEED a net, there's one for brine shrimp thats super soft (not see-through) and will be very gentle for your fish.

I don't know if it's a desease but it's possible he might've developed an infection if the water wasn't very clean after the injury. You have to take care of those plants in the tank and make sure your fish doesnt get scratched again.

As for treatment, increase your water temp to 82 degrees and add aquarium salt (1 tsp per galon). This is a very general treatment for injuries, if your fish has something else, I cannot help :(

If your fish got infected, it may be a sign that you're not maintaining good water quality in the tank. How big is it, and how often do you do water changes?

Let us know if the fish starts acting sick and lethargic so we can help you pick a treatment.

1 gallon tank
1 water change and a gravel clean a week
I always take out poop/food with a net if i see some, that may be weird.
