when you get him make sure he's well acclimated and look for signs of ammonia poisoning. I am not trying to scare you, but the betta I got that came 2 days late had bitten his tail when he arrived. Its been a couple of months and he's been sick off and on since then. He's bitten his tail so short! He was a beautiful OHM salamander and now he looks like a ragged PK. I have him in a QT tank for like the 3rd time because he was sick this morning - I thought he was dead!
Your fish may arrive just fine, as my 2nd thai purchase did. Just in case though !

Oh well it might not be so bad if they're just coming from CA. I really hope fishy is ok. I'm sure he is :)
do you have a Petco near you tho? They have really cool looking fish too (better than Petsmart IMO, but it could be the regional breeder too)

Ya, my Petco sucks though. The one guy I bought from there died in a week.

that stinks. Yah I think it depends on the breeder they buy from too. the 2 males I've gotten from Petco turned into biters too. I'm trying to keep them entertained and keep clean water in their tanks so I don't know what the deal is. The girls I got from there for the most part are doing good. Although I did lose 2 right off the bat. I figured they were too young. Or maybe they were sick? I'm actually going to go check out some local independent shops soon to see what they look like. Maybe I'll find some place other than aquabid and the chain petstores that have awesome fish!

If it was express shipped call the post office and report the package. Express packages automatically come with $100 insurance if they can't be found and since it was guaranteed to be at your house by 3 you will get a full refund on the cost of shipping. One of the fish I sent express got delayed a day for some reason and I had no trouble getting the full refund. The fish arrived safe and sound the next day.
