trust me the girls are always accident prone here. one gets caught in a place she shouldn't have been, one sleeps under the clam shell, another tries eating the fake anenome.......however spelt.... another gets sucked into the tube because she was curious enough to stick her face in it!
edit: eeeeeee I'm talking to a breeder from edmonton =D she's so nice! and helping me out, and she is even learning different methods to raise fry (net vs tank vs tank size), and she'll tell me how things work out for her :) I like her. now... to find a kiddy pool, pop up pond, or something to try having a sorority outside! (might test on minnows first >.> )

ugh even my bf knows I am having a bad day. bad week. actually. El Dorado might die, from what I dunno. Nothing that could've killed him - then again his immune system sucks, so doesn't surprise me. My 29 has a huge crack in it, and now I need to wait a WEEK for a new tank, 32 gallon, in edmonton for 80.00 out of my pocket D:
Went to the vet (thank goodness I'm not poor at the moment) and it turns out Hyde needs surgery for his bumblefoot, because he's got a buildup of proudflesh around it. It looks like a giant foot tumour. :( It will be wonderful to see it gone, but I can't help but worry because he is old and overweight yet so small, and surgery is such a risk.
yikes! that sucks. D: Have you tried epsom salt baths before whenever his little feet were reddened? Ginger had to have that and it cleared up well. She almost got bumblefoot because they had gross bedding, and never got exercise. Panda had an open sore I had to clean out D: ugh. lol. I don't know what you'll decide for your ol' rattie, but whatever you choose, good luck!!
I have started to bath it in epsom salt, but it is probably too late now, I think. :( It's a good few centimetres long. It got really bad in a really short time, despite the fact that I change all his fabric bedding and wipe down the lino every day, and washed the wound with a gentle antiseptic every night. So, day surgery for my fat man on Tuesday. Lucky that my vet is a rat expert. :)
My rant: did my first every babysitting job last night (a million times better than childcare - why didn't I do this before?), but unfortunately dropped my not-even-one-month-old guitar worth more than $3000 and made a slight chip in the bottom. It was a 21st birthday present from my parents. I don't care that it reduces the value etc since I'm never going to sell it, but that's my baby! :(
