Yeah... She's not the worst "stage mom" I've had, but it was definitely annoying. The worst one I had was a mom who actually refused to pay me because she said I listened to her daughter singing too much. -.- Sorry, that's kind of how these things work. My students sing, I identify problems, give a correction, and have them sing again so I can hear whether they're making the adjustment I asked them to. But I have to LISTEN and make decisions based on what I hear.
The problem is parents expect everything to be perfect on the first lesson and when something doesn't sound absolutely brilliant they think it's ME doing something wrong. But it doesn't work that way. It takes a whole lot more than half an hour to improve sound quality and a lot of the improvement happens outside of the lesson when students PRACTICE.
But these parents just drive me NUTS.
