Red eyes would be kinda cool... anyway, as long as he can get to the surface and get food, he should be fine, methinks. You could also try searching threads for blind bettas.

Rant: stupid, erm, girl, posting on the BF's wall again. Same one that's had a crush on him for ages...

I have a blind betta, I feed him in a small narrow and shallow container. I make a small ripple where the food is so he heads in that direction, then his nose does the rest. He still misses once or twice but is learning to follow the ripples much faster. He also swims into the container on his own now because he knows it means noms :D

I don't think my little pk boy from petsmart is blind, but the iridescence over his eye does seem give him some issues with depth perception, he keeps missing when he tries to eat his food
