I happen to love veiltails a lot. You get a nice long, pretty tail without the high maintenance of an HM. Generic my foot! A lot of people, myself included, would pay $15-$30 for a multicolored veiltail (if I had the space for another betta).
Diablo, way to go on the diet. You're proof that dieting CAN be done. *high five*
Id have been upset also by their responses. It sounds as if they are so used to uneducated people coming in and just breeding without future plans that they put you in the category, and REFUSED to understand that your NOT like that. I bred my VT male with my CT female and my babies are growing to be BEAUTIFUL and im SO proud of them, and honestly, theyve got the best care from birth to death coming to them, they wont ever look all clumpy and sad like petstore cupped bettas, they will be extra pretty and really, if a VT is well taken care of and its finnage is at full potential its just as pretty as the fancier types in my opinion! Dont let it get you down, be proud of your and your fishys hard work :)
I love my fish and I will be sure that all of them find the best homes possible. I have learned so much with these babies and all of that learning will help me when I begin to start my Giant Betta line. I really want to create lots of super cool kinds of giants hopefully even crown tail giants. I just couldn't get them to understand that I needed to be sure I could spawn and raise fry before I spent hundreds of dollars on high quality stock. That's why I started with a VT female .
