I hate when i'm living in a dorm, and all the dorms are connected, so that when some dumbo pulls the fire alarm that means all the dorms go off, and we have to evacuate the building. this is the second day in the row. AND it's raining.

Not really. I have really bad back pain all the time. I didn't when I first got them, so I USED to love it. Not so much anymore, but I do it because I need to.

Rant: Protein films! I never had a problem with them until I started feeding more frozen food. I get the worst film in Scooter's tank because all he eats are frozen bloodworms but I can't put a filter in there. It's a 1.75g kritter keeper and it's only filled with 1 gallon because he's handicap. I'm afraid a filter would blow him all over the place. :/ Do protein films inhibit their ability to breathe air from the surface?

no idea, but you should probs break scooter back into pellets. o3o those bloodworms will constipate and bloat him up. and then you'll have to give him epsom and treat him for that D:

i had the same problem with pierce and flair.
try garlic soaked pellets maybe?

They're frozen bloodworms, not freeze-dried. And I wish I could switch to pellets but the problem is Scooter has a back problem and he can't swim properly. He can't stay up at the surface long enough to eat a pellet but he also can't position himself on the tank bottom so he can eat the pellets off the ground. It's kind of hard to describe. He spends pretty much 98% of his time in an upright position with his head up and his tail down, almost like a little human. He's very unique. I thought he had SBD when I first got him but it soon became apparent he had a back deformity of some sort.

No, my fish have no problem breathing through the protein film. They just poke their snout out of it. No biggie.
