Unhappy Betta unhappy

I have four male bettas on the top of my desk. they are spread out in different tanks to the point they cant see each other. On the right is Romeo and the other three are to the left of him. On the right of Romeo is a lamp. All the others are happy and blow bubbles like crazy. Romeo has plants, a lily pad, and a ordament. So he has things to keep him busy. They get fed flakes and blood worms. I do water changes every 2 days. Is the light the problem? theres a top on the tank so no light goes through and there isnt a light on the tank. Just the lamp beside it. What could I possibly be doing wrong?

Could you tell us a little more about the tanks your boys are in and tell us more about what is wrong with Romeo? It's possible that the lamp is creating excess heat that is causing temperature fluctuations that your fish is sensitive to.
