Sick or getting old????

i was going through photos of koi my male when i realized he now has a dark grayish-green mark on his upper lip, it looks as if its part of the scales,is Koi getting old??? or is he sick??? the girl at the pet store (Neptune's tropical fish) told me about 6 mo ago that he was 1 yr.??? here some photos of the spot. last photo is of him with out the spot.

This fish has marble genes--you should expect him to continue to change throughout his life, the changes may be subtle, or they may be dramatic. Here's an article that explains the marble gene that has some interesting pictures: http://bettysplendens.com/articles/p...articleid=1114

So pretty much its saying the my fish koi will for example: go from white to black/red or some other color and continue to change through out his life ???right??

Marbles tend to marble in (turn a solid or mostly solid color) eventurally, or marble out (go white or cellophane). This all depends on the individual fish, though. One of my marbles started out white with a black spot on his face and a few purple spots--he ended up solid black and steel blue. Another one of mine started out royal blue-green butterfly, and turned into blue-green with a red wash. Generally once they mature they stick to a certain pattern, but there's no telling what it will be.
