Am I counting sizes right?

I read some where this mathmatical problem about aquarium sizes:

1 Gallon per 1 inch of Fish. And let's say a Betta grows to be about 2.5 inches. Then the gallon for 1 Betta would be 2.5 Gallons. So
2.5 Inches
X
6 Bettas

15.0 Gallons for 6 Bettas.

Would this be correct or am I wrong?

The 1in/gal is an old rule and by that rule you could put a 10in fish in a 10g tank

Also-on size you have two: TL-total length (includes the tail) and SL-standard length (exclude the tail)

When stocking you need to consider not just size of the fish fully grown but-swimming needs, territory needs, social needs, aeration needs, aggression level and waste production.

The more aggressive the fish the more space they need except with some cichlid and overcrowding helps aggression levels, if you got 6 sister-it may or may not work in a 15g-a 20g IMO would be more suited......
