My newest females...thrilled!

So I go to Petco the other day to check out females for my sorority. I saw two white ones...couldn't decide so I got both of them. I was thrilled when I got home and found out they have blue fins and tail...they looked solid white in the store. I named them Opal and Pearl. Pearl is in the sorority and getting along fine(she has the little chunk in her fin missing, but she's doing great). Opal is in her own tank for now because she kept hiding in the sorority tank and didn't seem to like it in there. I have wanted a white female with blue ever since I saw a picture of newfishmoms Peep(sooo pretty).

Well...I'm upset. I found Opal(bottom pic original post) this morning...she died. I have no clue why. She seemed so much happier and swimming around in her own little(2.5) tank.

Here are the last pics I got of her...

Im so sorry ! she sure looked real happy... Perhaps its was the nitrates in the tank or ammonia buildup?
