"Herp-Derp" fish

my new Betta, Hope, was bought when my aunt died. I named him hope, as in "hope for the future". That's irrelevant nonetheless. He just won't flare at ANYTHING. Sides of the tank, mirrors, anything you put in front of him. He's just like "herp derp I don't care."
Should I be worried? He's eating, has a 2.5 gallon heated tank constantly at 75ish, and i put a little scoop of aquarium salt in his tank when I change it. The filter is working fine also. Is he just a special fish, or is something wrong with him? He's FAR from lethargic and obsessed with the silk plant i got him.

So, do I have a "herp-derp" fish, or what? LOL

Not sure but my fish is the same way. He loves patrolling his tank and swimming about while playing with his decor. However he is a very relaxed fish that even when presented with his own reflection with be like FISH!... eh never mind I'm bored of that in about a second.

I'm not concerned over my boy personally, I just think he's not as aggressive as my fiancés fish who will attack anything it 'thinks' it sees. We're more worried about that one XD

He's beautiful, I have a cellophane betta too, he was really timid when i first got him, I think he may be young, just recently he started building small bubble nests and he actually flared at me (it was so cute-he looked like mickey mouse), I think those types of bettas tend to be different in behavior and possibly less aggressive

The only thing I would be concerned about is if your tank is cycled, if you are testing the water parameters, and of course if you are using water conditioner.

Two of my four don't flare at all (Kilo and Senor Fish). They're just not interested. Some do, some don't. It's nothing to be worried about.

Hope isn't always abrupt and bold. It is also quiet and peaceful, bringing happiness like the flow of water or a whisper in the wind. That is when it can sometimes shine it's brilliance the most. :)

my bubblez dosen't flare like at all i think i saw him do it once because he saw the cat but im not sure
