Dorothy has finn rot and floting weird

I noticed Dorothy had gotten some fin rot on his bottem finn like last week so I did some more frequent water changes (Yes I always add aqurim salt and condiner) and all the usal things. But then lastnight he was floting werdly. He was floting virticly. (that probably wasn't spelled right) I don't know what caused this to happen or why. I did notice that he was looking quite frale and skinny. Any help would be grate.

I have a water testing kit but I dumped the water in the 2g out. I can't take a water test of the water in the other thank because the water in that tank is blue from the Betta Revive.

Yes, by putting him in a .5g tank (easer to do a water change every day) and putting some Betta Revive in his tank.

Be sure not to add salt when you're using Betta Revive--it already has salt in it. Betta Revive is not my favorite treatment because it has such small amounts of a lot of different things--one being an antibiotic, and another being malachite green--both of these things shouldn't be used unless they're being used to treat a specific, diagnosed illness.

Can you describe the fins a little better? Are the edges crusty, dark, or fuzzy?

If it were me, I would put the fish back in the two gallon since it's large enough to be safely heated, I would stop using salt and stop using the Betta Revive and do 100% water changes every 3 days. I would not run the airstone, and if the tank is not cycled, I would not run the filter either. It's possible that just some extra clean water and some peace and quiet will help him de-stress and bounce back.

If his condition changes in any way, it might point us in a more clear direction as far as a diagnosis.

Oh i didn't know that you wern't supost to use those together (my bad). It always seamed to work well on all my other fish tho. Doing a 100% water change every 3 days on a 2g is hard for me to do because I am very busey. Thats why I put him in the small tank. I didn't put the heater in the .5g btw. I keep an eye in the temp in the tank and it is a fine tep for him. Not even very difrent from his 2g. I also always add aquerim salt to his tank. I don't know why you would sugest me not to put it in his tank.

The edge of his fins do seem to have some 'fuzzy' like strings haning down from the tips of the rotted fins.

Oh, my bad. I didn't mean to say I do use a airstone. I don't have one in eather tank.

You shouldn't be using salt any longer then 10 days. I agree with OFL, stop using it. It's obviously not helping if you've been using it all the time and he's still having a problem. It's not doing him any good at this point.

I also think you should put him back in his two gallon and increase your normal water changes. One 50% one week and then a 100% the next week isn't enough water changes in a two gallon. It leads to the problems you're seeing. I'm sure you can find the time for a half hour 100% water change a couple times a week, especially if you're changing it every day now. Just make time and follow OFL's advice.
