Co2 Systems and Bettas...

Just curious cause Bettas breathe from the surface, and I am installing a co2 system which will create bubbles for the plants and bring Co2 to the surface, should I keep my lid open so the Co2 isn't trapped between the hood and the water potentially starving my betta of Oxygen? D: Or maybe leave one of the back slots open...?

Unless your hood is airtight, you will be fine. Most CO2 injectors, especially DIY ones, don't produce CO2 bubbles fast enough to matter at the surface. That's why people use diffusers and try to put them towards the bottom of the aquarium, so the CO2 bubbles stay in the water as long as possible to be used by the plants. Once it reaches the surface, it's essentially wasted. The oxygen/carbon dioxide exchange at the surface will not be affected enough to bother your betta.

Oh sweet thanks for clearing that up, I have a diffuser/ladder system so it climbs up and diffuses before it hits the top (supposedly, its still new) but as long as they won't suffocate, that's perfect :D
