In one of my 5 gallons (heated, filtered, not cycled) I do a 30 to 50% water change on Mondays and a 90 to 100% change on Fridays. Fridays are my big water change days for all my tanks. Hope this helps.

If it's filtered, you don't need to do as many water changes. I do 30% a week on my filtered 10 gallon.

Is your tank cycled?
