I've never heard of a betta tail biting their OWN tail. o___o

Tail-biting is a real hassle...

Tail-biting is usually caused by stress (This is why fish in a divided are more likely to tail-bite.), or by boredom although there are many other reasons why.

I think the best way to prevent tail-biting is to keep them occupied all the time. U could rearrange ur decor or add more for them to discover, float diffrent colored ping pong balls, teach them tricks, basicly have something for them to do that will keep their mind off tail-biting. tails will heal with AS and clean water.

Find the source of why they tail bite, then apply to that and change some things so they wont anymore.

BIG LOL to the cone collar!!!!

yeah i know he's fairly stressed in the divider.... but he'll have to manage... im not gonna complain about his biting anymore caus i have no other choice than keep him in there... but why salmon started ill never know... he's such a settled content fellow... ah well... lol

yeah tell me bout it... i think they do that alot with us humans actually

maehk is spoilt too... he always had first pick of the new decor, or fresh packet of bloodworms etc... its a thing at this stage... but he's the only one biting this badly. salmon stopped...
maehk is in the divider now for a week or so and *knocks on wood* no biting yet!
