Warm Weather

What should be done when it's a hot day? Today it was 100 F and Tacos tank seems to be at about 83 F so I lowered the his heater. Is this bad for bettas? Is there anyway to keep their tanks cool during warmer weather?

Can you put a fan near the tank to try to cool it a bit? The only other thing I can think of is to keep the room that your fish is in as dark and cool as possible until the heat breaks.

Thanks I'll try the fan. We don't have AC but we do try to keep everything covered and dark.
