150 w adjustable heater ok in 5 gallon?

This may be a dumb question...

I am setting up a 5 gallon aquarium at home and was given a 150W heater that has adjustable thermostat. Because I can adjust it to the desired temperature, does that mean it's ok to use in a 5 gallon tank, or is it too strong?

It's this one: http://www.amazon.ca/EHEIM-Jager-Aqu.../dp/B003M7P9YU
