I'm thinking about maybe changing her name from Lady Iris to Lady Dai. That way if she turns out to be a male I'll have a name to fall back on ^_^ Dai means "to shine" in Welsh, I think.

I've been worried because I know males are supposed to be much smaller than females, which could be why this "female" is so small at a yearling age.

Edit: Ohh, get some! What show are you going to?

Just a local expo. Breeders meet from the Detroit area and sell. I could teach you how to sex her over pm if you wish. I'll probably bug out and come home with 5-6 reptiles and amphibs.. at least I've got the space and money.

Eh, that's fine ^_^ I'm extremely paranoid, and for now I think I'm going to leave her alone for a week. I MIGHT come back to you in a bit, though, and ask for the lesson then, though!

And if you do, post pictures if possible!

And then there's the whole size thing... I'll know if she's a he just by waiting a bit xD But I'll try the tail thing, too! Next week. Last time I accidentally messed with one of my snakes before the one week waiting period passed I was bit o_o; Just changing his water and... WHAM. LOL. I got attacked by velcro. So I think I'll wait. xD

Hubby said no to the snake...lol I would have gone with a cornsnake. Oh well...just because he said no doesn't really mean anything...he said no to a third fish tank and then bought me one for my birthday.

xDD Too bad, but like you said... it's a matter of persuading, LOL. Look up all of the morphs you like and show them to him... convince him they're not too bad, that kind of thing.

When I was 15 I went to the store to buy a garter snake and ended up with a bearded dragon. -__- Ever since then I have been hooked on reptiles. Personal favorite was the pair of Crocodile skinks we picked up from a show. Unfortunately they were wild caught and the female died. The male lived for a long time, then stopped eating. He passed away on the car ride to the vet. :( My Beardie is pretty awesome though. He hangs out and watches TV with us.
Depending on what you get lizard wise. Crickets are easy to keep. You buy some vitamin/calcium rick cricket food and cricket gel/water and keep them in a storage bin with some tubes and egg cartons with a screen on top. You can order them much cheaper through the mail.
I really like the little Ribbon snakes though. ;-; But they eat fishies and I just can't do it.
