Exclamation Long weekend without fishie

I go to college about 45 minutes from my house and go home most weekends. I know the general consensus on here is that the fish can handle not being fed for the 2 days (I clean his tank and feed him before I leave Friday and feed him when I return on Sunday evening), but with this weekend having Labor Day off in addition, what do y'all recommend I do? I'm considering bringing him home with me, but I worry that'll be too taxing on him. So I'm trying to decide which is the lesser of two evils: stressing him out by transporting him or half-starving him for three days. Help?

Thanks!

He will be perfectly fine for the three days, IMO/E.

Have a fun holiday week-end! :)

I think this thread should be called "Long weekend without a caretaker"
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Your fishie will be fine by himself. Just make sure you clean that tank very well!
Clean water is more important than food when leaving them for a few days.

Oh yes! He'll be perfectly fine! I used to worry too but my baby has made it through a few long weekends. The best part is how happy they are to see you when you get back!! =)

They sell a time released food dispenser machine. You might want to look into investing in one of these, as your away most weekends. I can survive 2-3 days w/out food too, but I def wouldn't want too. esp on a regular basis. Just something to think about, good luck!! :)
