Haha can't believe I didn't realize that was a female! She is still gorgeous though. I don't think female DTs that nice are very common--you got lucky! I have a male BF DT that I'm in love with but haven't had any luck finding a DT female that would be compatible with him.

As far as missing out on bubble nests--I have the perfect solution: buy another betta lol. Who owns just one anyway?

haha! true. good solution. i actually only have 3 bettas. two females and one male. my new female[DBT], a pretty tiny female [unknown] and a pretty decent male [VT] he was my first betta. before i even knew there were different tail types. LOL

i had a pretty crowntail that had a sad story. so i get this red crowntail from a very nice HIGH end aquarium store. this betta only lasted 3 weeks! i treated it like all of my bettas! with love & care.
now i've had my vieltail mala for about 2 months...and he's from petsmart! haha.
i'm hoping to get one more male within the next few weeks to try breeding because i have a nice breeding set up that i spent about 120$ on and my pair didn't mate because the male [old CT] was too aggressive. so i'm hoping to get one more male [prefferably HM or DBT]

not sure which female i should use. my DBT or my unknown one. LOL. i just don't want my DBTs precious fins to get torn by a mean father ]:

I think that is normal. :)
My betta picked a spot to sleep (also a place to poo, haha. Thankfully he does this on the amazon's roots cause the plant is turning brown!) on the gravel in the corner. He will rest on the plants too, but he loves the little spot on the gravel.
