Help! Lump getting larger?????

I've been watching Alexanders Lump/bump he has on the side of his body. It seems to be getting larger but theres still no change in his behavoir. He's pretty active and is eating fine. He's in a 5 gallon Hex with a filter and heater. The temp is 82 right now and stays between 80 and 82. It's a little bit lighter shade of red from his normal color. Theres also little black slits that almost look like scratches. Heres the best pic I could get of it with my sucky camera.... Any idea what it is?

Yeah he only gets 1-2 pellets every day just in-case I didn't feed him for 1 day and a half and it's not any better...Also It's only on one side of his body and he doesn't look bloated.
*Edit*
I just saw the picture and ARGH It does make him look bloated...but I'm pretty sure he's not! I'll try getting another picture.

I know. I'm worried about him! I hope he's not in pain </3 It hasn't seemed to effect his behavoir yet. I hope it doesn't. He seems content and active. Thank you for replying.

I can't tell much by the pic, but if the lump is only on one side- it may be a tumor (not cancer) and since he is acting and eating fine it must not be causing any problems like pain for him at this time.
And as posted, keep him comfy and keep a close eye on him for any changes in behavior and other symptom..... and just enjoy your wet-pet for now.
Keep the water really clean (I am sure you do this anyway)
Short of taking him to a vet-not much can be done.....
Tumor can grow and cause problem by pressing on internal organs....I would cross that bridge when you come to it........

A better, clearer pic so I could see the exact location of the lump would be helpful.......

I just tried to get another better pic and right when I take it he will move over to his other side. I will keep trying though. To help with the location of the lump is right behind the pectoral fins. I will be sure to keep a eye on him. Thanks.
