I think some is genetic. Just like some people scratch their knees, bite their finger nails who carry their parents genes

I guess time will tell. I will not be breeding any tailbiters in my program what so ever (with the exception that I mentioned) and I will be culling (through adoption) any fry that bite their tails (if I get any). We'll see how many of my fish bite end up as tail biters.
