Has anyone had pet rats?

Im getting two in october and i was just wondering about like the overall experience with them and if they are as cool as everyone says :)

I've never had pet rats, but we have two as class pets at my school (along with a bunny and a Guinea pig) in the science room (one of my favorite subjects! ) named cupid and Elvis. they're really friendly! they love to be held! (i get to hold and feed them at the end of the day!) good luck with your new pets!

Pet Rats are amazingly Clean, friendly, Active, Each individual rat has its own personality..

AS a teenager i had 4 pet rats, all used to let themselves out of the cage on a night, and sleep on my shelf at the side of the bed.

They are well known for attempting to escape if the cage door isnt properly closed, and well known for escaping if the bars on the cages are too wide apart.

my friend used have rats there very clean animals. As soon as one died the other one got worse and died two days later they like to be in pairs.

I've never had a pet rat, but my mom had a hamster for me when I was 2. He died when I was 9. Thats an old hamster. :S

LMAO I got them at the time Purley Because Mum and Dad both said no.

After a week of having them they both decided they were really good pets, but wouldnt enter my room if the rats were out of the cage,

i want one but my mom would automatically veto that one. i've had a guinea pig before, and they're awesome. You can take them out and put them in the yard and stuff, kind of like a tiny dog.

I had a female rat named Squeaky. I always wanted a pet rat but my husband didn't like rats (he was scared of them lol) but gave in when he seen how nice she was. Squeaky was a silver light grey color. She was very tame and rode on my shoulder and was fun to play with. Rats are very smart too.
