Eco-Complete

I really want to redo my tank, seeing as the plants in it are suffering. If I got black eco-complete and capped it with my pretty white sand, would my sand get stained black?

Also, does anyone know if there is anywhere I could buy a smallish bag of eco-complete. The places where I've seen it only seem to sell it in freakishly large 20 pound bags, which I know I could never use between 2 tanks.

I don't think it will stain. It has kind of a charcoal texture but it doesn't bleed or anything. It also comes in a dark red, kind of like clay colored. I think 20lbs is the only size they sell.

Thanks Vaygirl :) Well, in that case, maybe someone will be selling a half used bag of it somewhere on craigslist or ebay XD

I just bought a second bag of Eco-complete. One bag is good for 10 gallons. I used half a bag for my 5 gallon and it looks great. You could always tape it up and use the rest later on in life.
