Is this tank ok?

I was wondering if this tank is ok? If I got this, I couldn't add a shrimp. Could I get a heater and filter small enough to fit it?

Yes, that tank would make a great home for your betta! I think you add A shrimp, but i'm not sure about that. Just make sure you get heater a filter should come with it. If not make you get one.

Edit: is an under gravel filter okay? It comes with under gravel filter and air pump. So I just need the heater?

yeah that's good. and an under gravel filter is fine. so all you need is a heater.

Undergravel filters aren't that good in my opinion. =/ It'd get a Tetra Whisper Filter (they make them for 3 gallons) or something else if you can. =]

Why don't you go for the Hawkeye 5 gallon hex? It cost about 5 dollars less and they'll ship it to your house for only a dollar. It's bigger (you could put more shrimp in and a snail) and it comes with a MUCH better filter! =] I have the same filter that comes with that system and it works wonderfully! =]

Also there are many experienced users on here with the Hawkeye 5 gallon hex and they've all given wonderful reviews! =]

Wallywestisthebest333 Does have a good point. I have the haweye 5 gal hex and its great!!, but if you like the three go ahead and get what YOU want.

The 3g is taller, so it takes up ALOT less space if thats an issue.

I like the 5 G hex, but I am keeping him on my nightstand for now. My husband rotates and does night shifts every 2 weeks. I know it seems silly, but the light from an aquarium and the "company" of the fish would actually make me feel better. Mostly the light and I find it relaxing watching fish swim. I can't handle a dog or cat right now. The 5 G Hex would fit. Just. Nothing would hang over. I'd still have a little room and if it's against the wall, it'd probably stand a better chance should my 2 year old sneak in. Something to think about.

Edit: Just read the reviews on the 3. The colors are part of what I love and apparently they are not that good. The thing has horrible reviews. :(

Really? I have it and it's really nice at night. It's hard cleaning with a siphon though.Twizzle lives in there. :D
