What color is this considered?

This male I got from Walmart. I have him in his own 1.5 gallon with 100% water changes every 3 days trying to get his anal fins straightened out. He looks to be very young, he's a tiny fella. What is the technical name for his color?

That looks like a black orchid to me. Very, very pretty fish and a great find.

EDIT: It doesn't look like a TRUE one because I think I see some dark red areas under his anal fin..I'd consider it a "fancy" or "artist" black orchid.

Eclover, it's kind of odd around here. There are 4 Walmarts the I go by on a fairly frequent basis. 3 of them usually have 6-10 bettas at one time. The other usually has a minimum of 25 or so and I have seen them there in the 40's. Just be patient and have a tank ready.

My Sora's an orchid-type PK... from wal-mart too! I don't know what breeders they're buying from now, but Wal-mart is starting to get some semi-decent stock! I just wish they'd take care of them...
