Tail Biting... Can Anyone help please?

My betta just got moved to a 10 gallon tank. He was in a 1.5 gallon and got moved last night. His fins have gotten red and they are getting worse. :( Anyway- does anyone know how to stop them from biting their tail? I'm going to move him back to the 1.5 gal. Hopefully that will make it better. I just checked on him and his fin is really bad. HELP PLEASE

Put a pin pong ball in his tank (I think thats what to use) and they like to puh it around. That distracts them from biting their tail.

1) More water changes. While bettas are known to change color, red wash in fins are sometimes associated with ammonia "burns". Check you water to make sure the ammonia isn't bad, and that he is only coloring up.

2) He's probably bored as heck. Interact with him, change what you put in his tank. Put things around his tank, and make sure it's differnt each day. Try putting things by his tank he has never seen before. This'll keep him interested, and sometimes if something catches his eye, he'll be too busy staring at it to bite his tail. (This did wonders when my betta was tail biting)

Yep, one of my guys is a tail-biter too. For now I've seemed to successfully distract him from tail biting by buying him his very own PetSmart floating betta log. Sigh. He'll be asking me for a Porsche next...

lol fermin... I think I have fixed it. Apparently he is very stressful and needs a water conditioner that has a stress remover, so I put that in the tank and no more problems :)
