Rusko and Neptune!

Introduced them at 2:00AM NY time!

Well she is doing what she has never done in a long time, FILLING up with eggs and he is already building a bubblenest with being in the tank for 6 minutes:)!!!

This is awesome!!

If this last spawn doesnt work im just going to stop trying to breeding and try to just research more and buy a better and younger pair!!

Also, when i was in school, i printed bunches and bunches of articles and experiences and things like that ALL ABOUT betta breeding! I almost got caught printing literally about 50 pages and i checked out a book on everything and its very formally spoken!

this weekend im going to read it up (and finish homework) and know what to look for, also the female is too lightly colored to see breeding bars.

So i will have to detect her body language and watch very carefully!

Also this male betta CT is VERY big and has long ventrals and is so red!! lol he is so drarkly colored and amazing i hope i have super red fry! at this observation and guessing that the fry will be super red because the parents are super red!!!:)

So i hope this one works!!!!

Well its been a day and a couple of hours and still no spawn but i see LOTS OF BUBBLES!!

When the female sees the male and he is under his bubblenest she wiggles her body while staying in one spot, i think thats called body waking. She did this a few times and went up to the male(while under the nest) and he just chased her away and she would go hide for a few minutes.

Well currently while im typing he is chasing her away and she is very daring to actually stay in one spot and sometimes flare back at him. One she flares he backs up!

Is this normal?

That is normal-sometimes it can take several attempt for the male to get a good embrace and for eggs to release.

Give them time and try not to disturb them too much-especially inside the tank...keep your distance but watch...it is really neat to watch Bettas spawn........

Good luck....

YES!!! My red VT's had this problem because they ate the eggs and both developed bloat while spawning. Has anyone ever seen two bettas floppin aorund on the sruface of the water spawn?? It's really funny :P OF course they were back to normal th enext day.

He's just not wrapping her tightly enough. This is common in females who aren't bloated from eggs or of nearly the same size as the male.
