homemade backgrounds

i have a five gal tank and i am wondering if i can make a background for my tank. can i ?

Yep. Construction paper makes nice backrounds, and so does wrapping paper.

Or poster board - that's what I use. It comes in a ton of different colors and it's CHEAP!!! :)

IMO, it just looks better. ESPECIALLY if you have a filter & heater - it helps hide the wires.

Yeah I agree, I have a background with plants and driftwood and without that my tank looks empty lol

I have heard people suggesting fabric for a background and I have also seen people drawing and painting their own, just remember to laminate the paper if your going to do that otherwise your hard work may run lol

I have a friend who got a paper bag (one of the standard brown grocery ones - no logos or anything) cut it to size, wrinkled it up, smoothed it out, and used that. It looks pretty neat. Gives it a rocky appearance. I may try that for mine.
