Im brilliant!!!

I can't believe I never thought of this!!! Let's say I get a halfmoon from PetCo and breed him to a VT. Then I breed a daughter back to the father. Will I get HMs????? Let's find out.

Ok new update. I will not be breeding until early November. I'm going to Mexico in late October and I don't want to risk losing fry.

I'm not saying this wouldn't work (I have no idea if it would), but wouldn't it make more sense to just get a HM female in the first place?

I think it would take more than one generation of offspring to give you any females that would throw halfmoons. It would be a lot easier on yourself just to order a HM female or find a breeder near you to get one from. What's frustrating is that Petco sells HM females online but not in stores.

Well think about it like this, it would probably cost more time and money to raise a few generations of fry in hopes it would work than it would to just order a female.

That can cause problems I think in breeding family.
Plus it's kinda weird in my opinion.
